Now that funding from the Education Funding Agency has been approved, works are taking place to ensure that temporary accommodation for the first Reception class will be ready for September. The building is being prepared, the playground is being completed and digital devices have been ordered so that the children will have full access to technology in the classroom.
In addition, BCPS assistant headteacher Nina Rothery is working with WCPS teacher Tonia Dudley to design the interiors. They have ordered very child friendly, colourful furniture, and they are putting into place all the resources necessary for the Foundation Stage curriculum, including areas for role play, construction, creativity, small world, investigation and reading. Not only that, but they are also arranging an outdoor area that will include sand and water.
Of course, these lucky children will not only have their own dedicated building - they'll also have access to all the outstanding facilities at BCPS.
